Sippin’ runs from 2-6 p.m., when guests can pick up a passport from the DDA tent outside of Grandaddy Mimm’s Distilling Co. at 112 Wellborn Street and take a walking tour of the downtown.

Stop by each shop listed on the passport to try a sip of some of the best moonshine cocktails around. Visit all participating locations and turn your completed passport in at Grandaddy Mimm’s for a chance to win a $300 Grand Prize! Must be 21 or older to take part in the sippin’.

Then, from 6-10:30 p.m., bring your own chair and come on down to the distillery for a FREE COMMUNITY CONCERT! Gates open at 6 p.m., and music starts at 7 p.m. Musical performers will be Cody King and headliners KANSTYX, who feature the best of Kansas and Styx.

But there ain’t just music at this local gathering. At Appalachian Roots, you’ll also find free caricatures by Giggles & Grins Caricatures, free outdoor games, Low Country Boil served up by Jim’s Smokin’ Que, Overflow Coffee Co., a free hydration station, fire pit courtesy of North GA Stone, photo opportunities, and your favorite moonshine crew!

The event is free and open to the public. Bring your friends, family, in-laws, and outlaws! We’re ready for some good, clean fun and a night of celebrating what matters to us. Good food, great music & mountain spirits!
