The Union County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division busted two individuals last week for selling meth. The arrests came after a roughly three-month investigation that stemmed from other local drug investigations.
Deputies brought the investigation to a head with a traffic stop at Pleasant Hill Road and Murphy Highway around 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8.

Vehicle occupants Roy Lynn Byers and Coy Lee Dockery, both of Blairsville, were subsequently arrested without incident, UCSO Capt. Tyler Miller said.
Their arrests were pursuant to warrants issued for illegal activity discovered in the course of the investigation, which included controlled drug buys, Capt. Miller said.
And while no substances were located in the vehicle, investigators brought additional charges against Byers after executing a search warrant at his residence, which turned up more drug evidence.
Byers, 48, has been charged with five counts of selling meth related to the investigation. In connection with the residential search warrant, he is facing felony possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance and misdemeanors for distribution of marijuana, possession of marijuana less than an ounce, and possession of drug-related objects.
Dockery, 54, has been charged with sale of methamphetamine and distribution of a controlled substance, both felonies.
Both individuals were on probation when arrested July 8, Byers for misdemeanor driving offenses and Dockery for felony drug convictions and illegal weapon possession.
They have been denied bond and remained in custody at the Union County Jail at press time. All individuals are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
Capt. Miller said the investigation remains ongoing, and “there may possibly be more arrests come out of it.”
