An article in the July 23, 2025, edition of the North Georgia News noted that the newspaper did not find mention of a “severance package” for former Union County Development Authority Executive Director Mitch Griggs in the minutes of the April 28, 2023, Development Authority Board meeting.
However, upon further review after publication, the newspaper did find mention of a “severance agreement” for Griggs, which was approved during the regular business portion of the meeting, according to the minutes.
