News Special
On Tuesday, June 16, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Union County E911 received a call of a structure fire in the Grace Mountain Road area.
Union County Fire Department Stations 1, 2, 3, 4, and 13 responded with volunteer and career firefighters/apparatus. Upon arrival, they found a large home almost fully engulfed with fire. The occupants had gotten out of the home safely.
A defensive attack was made on the fire, which involved the house and several vehicles. The home was a total loss. There were no injuries or fatalities sustained. The cause has not been officially determined.
The family lost everything in the fire, and a GoFundMe account has been set up to assist them at https://gofund.me/eb7b0b92e.
People are also being asked to keep an eye out for their two cats, which might have made it out of the fire. One is a fluffy gray/brown tabby with tan markings, and the other is a fluffy calico with black, orange, and white coloring.
