Communities gather to honor child victims of the Holocaust

It is estimated that more than 1.5 million children – nearly all of them Jewish – were murdered in the Holocaust, and to honor their memories, the Daffodil Project seeks to plant 1.5 million bulbs in gardens worldwide.

Union and Towns counties have their own patches of sunshine set aside for just such a purpose, and on Tuesday, March 10, people gathered both at Meeks Park in Blairsville and Lloyd’s Landing in Hiawassee to remember the high cost of prejudice.
