A young woman from Murphy, North Carolina, died in a single-vehicle crash that occurred on Murphy Highway Saturday, Oct. 10. Lynzey Alexis Kenner was 20 years old.
At 10:48 a.m. on Saturday, Georgia State Patrol Troopers responded to the scene of the accident near Leslie Lane on Murphy Highway.
When the accident occurred, Kenner was traveling south on Murphy Highway in her 2007 Buick Lacrosse, according to GSP.
“The vehicle was traveling too fast for the wet road conditions and traveled off the west shoulder of the roadway, striking a tree with its left side,” GSP said. “The vehicle came to rest against the tree on the west shoulder. The driver succumbed to her injuries on scene.”
Regarding travel conditions, Saturday was particularly rainy and windy as North Georgia experienced the tail of Hurricane Isaias, which was moving northward through Alabama at the time.
