Mr. Tommy “Chris” Gibson age 47 of Gibson Hill Hiawassee passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday August 30, 2026 at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Gibson was born on September 4, 1978 in Hiawassee, GA., the son of Tommy Virgil Gibson and the late Donna Charlene Shook Gibson. He was a native and lifelong resident of Towns County. Chris was a loving father, son, brother and uncle. Chris found his happy place in the woods. He loved hunting and most of all spending time with his family which he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his mother Charlene and a brother, Shannon Kirby. Chris was a member of Lower Hightower Baptist Church.

Surviving Chris are one son, Micha Gibson of Blairsville, his father, Tommy Gibson of Hiawassee, one sister and brother in law, Amanda and Danny Dockery of Hiawassee, nieces and nephews, Samantha Burrell, Trenton Cole and Jenna Finnegan, many other relatives and friends also survive.
A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced. Floral donations may be made to Amanda,1230 Taylor Trail Hiawassee, GA. 30546 or to Micha at 3 Sunset Drive Blairsville, GA 30512 in Chris’s memory.
