Senior Mady Adams was crowned Union County High School’s 2025-26 Homecoming Queen on a rain-soaked Friday night, Sept. 26, at Mike Colwell Memorial Stadium – the highlight of a week filled with school spirit and celebrations.
“I’m so shocked I can’t even think right now,” Adams said after receiving her crown from 2024-25 Queen Leah Cox. “But I am just so grateful. It was such a tremendous opportunity to be on (the Homecoming Court) for four years.
“Then, to finally win it, I feel so grateful and fulfilled to have a community that has loved on me so much. I want to thank everyone for their endless support. I have so much gratitude for the unending love and support that I’ve gotten.”
Adams earned her crown ahead of fellow seniors Lola Hunter, the First Runner-Up, and Adelyn Cisneros, the Second Runner-Up.
Junior Abby Gilley was named the Junior Class Runner-Up; Estafania Alvarez was the Sophomore Runner-Up; and Brooke Frechette was named the Freshman Runner-Up.
For Adams, the biggest stress of Homecoming Week wasn’t the suspense of Friday night’s coronation but the search for the perfect dress, a task she admitted nearly overshadowed her fourth and final court selection.
“Honestly, I haven’t done anything except frantically search for my dress,” she said with a laugh. “It took me so long to find it. But it’s all been so exciting, and I’ve been trying to soak up these last moments of my senior year. It’s been bittersweet knowing that I’m doing this for the last time.”
With Adams’ fourth year on the court culminating with a crown, she realizes that she’ll be back for a fifth year when she passes her crown to the 2026-27 queen.
“Yes. I can’t wait,” she said excitedly.
Other members of the 2025-26 UCHS Homecoming Court were seniors Avery Frechette and Georgia Hanes, along with juniors Clara Akins, MacKenzie Dyer, Elizabeth Harper and Lilly Oliver. Sophomores Leighton Hunter and Ava Serrano and freshman Reagan Ingram rounded out the court.
